The Village Jewel Museum and Eco Lodge is situated in Manger, a unique location on the outskirts of New Delhi. The village is 4km from the Gurugram-Faridabad highway in the state of Haryana and a 20-min drive from the cities of Faridabad and Gurugram. Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi is only a 45-minute drive away.
The residents of Manger claim their village is 700 years old. The rocky hills surrounding it are covered with trees unique to The Aravalli Range - the oldest Plateau mountains in India.
The Village Jewel Eco Lodge provides opportunities for artists to participate in exchange programs and attend or give workshops. The Lodge also gives visitors from nearby cities, including school children, the chance to experience village life. Yoga courses are available for those who wish to sample an ashram (Indian monastic) lifestyle.
The Village Jewel Museum is on the ground floor of the lodge and is dedicated to the preservation of the tribal jewelry of India and its rich heritage. The pieces reflect local traditions and customs, which are disappearing with development. It has taken 35 years to build the collection, which is explained in detail, and it’s continually growing.
The Village Jewel Eco Lodge is run on 80% solar energy, with electricity set aside for emergencies. There are six rooms with traditional twin beds, each with en-suite bathrooms There are four twin carved traditional rope beds per room.
The Kalakar Museum:
is to be dedicated to the traditional jewellery and costumes of India plus silk route areas.

A jewellery and costume rental is located at Kathputli Colony; the main museum is too far away for the practical daily purposes of the artists
